Our theory of action is Passion + Power + Agency = Impact, therefore our Self-Portrait of a Graduate is aligned to this theory and is student facing. This became our vision of who we wanted our graduates to be and is the north star for all of our stakeholders and practitioners alike.[/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”8033″ animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][vc_custom_heading text=”Mapping to our competencies” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]The next step after we created our Portrait of a Graduate was to determine how we would make it come to life. We wanted to measure if students have achieved these qualities, skills, and mindsets by the time they graduate. We went through a process to map our current competencies to our Portrait of a Graduate. If the competency measured the characteristic, we put a 1 in the box. We then tallied up all of the 1’s to determine which competencies were most aligned to our Portrait of a Graduate. These competences are now a school wide focus and are present throughout all of our students’ learning experiences to ensure that students have many opportunities to master these qualities, skills, and mindsets by the time they graduate.[/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”9627″ animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
